Yeah Eights - Block #18 of 30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days Blog Hop and Quilt Along

Welcome to day 18 of
30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days.

A blog hop and quilt along.
Every day in April there will be one super simple quilt block tutorial for the quilt along here
and
one designer showing a project with that block on their blog.

30 days of bloggers
showing new and different ways to use each of the
30 quilt blocks.

Today's all-star blogger is

showing a project with
Block 18 - Yeah Eights

Here's the block:

Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"

Cut 8 squares 3" x 3" - four blue / four white
Cut 2 rectangles 3" x 10 1/2" -  white

Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.

Stitch the squares in the middle together
then stitch the top and bottom rectangles to the middle unit.

By turning the blocks you get such an interesting pattern for a quilt.

Check out what our designer of the day,
made with this block.

I am using Tula Pink's newest fabric collection,
All Stars to show each block.

And you can win your own bundle of All Stars too.
The giveaway ends April 29th.
I will announce the winner on the last day of the blog hop
April 30th.

Comment on the designer of the day and come back here to enter every day in April
for more chances to win the All Stars fabric bundle.

This is another fun one. I love what Pat did with her version too.

Both versions are pretty! I liked seeing how she used the brights and the gray for contrast.

Thanks for sharing all these patterns! Your pictures and explanations are very well done.
I can see myself strip piecing this one for a quick quilt.
Great inspiration over at Life In The Scrapatch with her finish. The same quilt/pattern can look so different in different fabrics.

Now that block makes an interesting all-over pattern! Thanks!

All the blocks are just fantastic. I am late to the game but am going to try them anyway. I love the purple and I also love the applique on Life In the Scrapatch as I am a sucker for flowers.

I really like that block, such simplicity that makes a statement in a quilt!
