Layer Cake Market Bag - Foodie Blog Hop

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
my day in the Foodie Blog Hop.

To all that are participating or visiting and commenting -
Thank you so much!
Yesterday was amazing!

I'm excited to share my Foodie project -
Layer Cake Market Bag.

You can't really make anything food without going to the market first unless, of course, you grow your own.  Even then this bag could be used.

In this day and age, we are all a little more aware of our environment and the less trash the better.
I hate those little plastic bags at the store and would rather pick up my groceries with a reusable bag(s). This is the newest one of the many I've made.

Why not make it a fun, HUGE eclectic bag with lots of colors?
The fabric in this one is a 10" stack of "Punch" by Island Batik.

My layer cake market bag is perfect to carry a LOT!

I designed the bag to use one layer cake.
It's so fun to play with all those 10" squares.

It's my most requested bag pattern, but it's out of print.

So, I had planned to offer a new version of the pattern today.

Oh, life...

But, I'm working on the new version and should have it ready soon in my Etsy Shop.

Now check out the other bloggers posting Foodie ideas today:

Foodie Blog Hop This Week!

 This week is the
Foodie Blog Hop!

I invited a great group of Bloggers to
create something inspired by food for this blog hop.

It could be anything from a quilt with a food fabric, to a tea cozy.
A mug rug for coffee to an apron.
A Corn and Beans Quilt Block to a drying rack for the kitchen.
Maybe something for a charity that supplies food.
It should be fun to see what our group comes up with for the challenge!

What is a Blog Hop?

It's like a "show and tell" online.
Our blog hops feature sewing and quilting and are like joining a quilt guild without leaving home.
Carol at Just Let Me Quilt, Joan at MooseStash Quilting, and I come up with a challenge
and invite bloggers to join.
We give everyone plenty of time to sew something, usually two months.

We assign a date for the bloggers to post their projects during the hop
and
they inspire us with projects, tutorials, or patterns.
Sometimes there are a few giveaways, too.

I'm sure this group will wow us!!

Monday, May 23rd
Pinterest Board
to stay up to date, too.

Enjoy this fun and yummy week!

Fly Over Quilt For Him with Cuddle Fabric Backing

Mother's Day was so wonderful, does that mean it's time to concentrate on projects for him?

YES! I suppose it's time to share Father's Day ideas.

It’s “Guy Talk” week on the Thermoweb blog
and
I’m excited to share a new quilt pattern and tutorial for you to make a super fun quilt.

My guy loves to watch airplanes and this quilt is perfect for him.

ThermOWeb has a new width for Stitch n Sew High Loft Fleece - 60” wide.

It is lighter than cotton batting and is perfect
when adding a cuddle fabric to the back of a quilt.

Hop over on over to the Thermoweb Blog for the
Free pattern for Fly Over
and
the full tutorial for adding cuddle fabric to the back of the quilt.

Photos were taken at the Nelson Ghost Town in Searchlight, Nevada.
It was such a fun place to visit and take quilt photos.
I can't thank Carol enough for the awesome fun we had!!!

I need to make another quilt so I can get out there and take pictures again!

Cackling Stitches Block of the Month - May

It's the fourth month for the Cackling Stitches

Block of the Month,
"Creepy Critters".

This month I have a Creepy Critter Block to release:
Frankie Lights the Way

It's hard to make a Halloween quilt without Frankie
and he always likes to bring a lantern to the party.

Joan from MooseStash Quilting is releasing
Melvin the Mummy
(this is my version of the block)

This mummy is the cutest I've ever seen!

Carol at Just Let Me Quilt, Joan at MooseStash Quilting, and I are the wickedly creative minds behind this block of the month.
Together we celebrate Halloween all year!

You can too!
Join us over on the

Here's how the "Creepy Critters" BOM works at our
Facebook Cackling Stitches group:

The BOM will run from February 1st to August 1st.

On the 1st day of each month, we will release block patterns in the Facebook Group that will be free until the next blocks are released.

Once new blocks are released, the previous month's blocks will no longer be free. They will be available in our Etsy stores.

In August the entire pattern will be combined and sold in our Etsy stores.

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating the BOM quilt and understand that we are keeping the costs to a minimum.
If you're quick to get the patterns during the month they are free, there will be no cost to you.

All of the details including the supply list are available on the

My version of the Creepy Critters BOM Quilt

Come join us for some tricks, treats, and Creepy Critters!
