Friday Finish - Being Prepared

It never hurts to be prepared.

You never know when you will be invited to a
 baby shower
or
 gender reveal party.

Whether it's a boy or a girl I like to show up with a gift.

Some say not to bring a gift to gender reveal parties, but I like to share my craft
and
if I can make a sweet little quilt top in an afternoon
I AM going to take a gift.

So here is the Friday finish for this week.

Two quilt tops ready to be quilted (lots of yummy negative space)
and
gifted.

Whether it's a boy

or a girl

I am prepared.

The pattern will be available once the quilts are finished
and then
you can be prepared too!

Girl Charlee Fabric Summer Dress Thanks to HeatNBond Soft Stretch

ThermOWeb has a new product that has made me start sewing clothing again.
It's just like my favorite applique fusible adhesive,
HeatNBond Lite,
 but it stretches.
 It's called
HeatNBond Soft Stretch
and
it's perfect for cotton knit, minky fabric, fleece fabric, or any fabric that has stretch.

I hadn't made myself clothing for years, but when they asked if I would be interested in making a clothing item for
Fashion Friday on the ThermOWeb blog
I couldn't say no.
Now I'm ready to make more.

HeatNBond Soft Stretch is available in a roll or in a narrow hemming strip.

The fabric for this dress is from Girl Charlee.
It's a high quality knit fabric and is much easier to sew with than a lot of knits
 and
 it is sooooo soft.

If you would like the details about how this dress was made from
 making the pattern
 to
finishing the hems and neckline with
HeatNBond Soft Stretch,
I'm over on the ThermOWeb Blog today.

Don't you just love summer dresses?
I could wear one everyday in the summer for sure.

And that's my Friday finish.
Although this dress is so easy, I could make 2 today....

Ruffled Flower Pillow Covers - Testing Your Own Pattern

Today I am revisiting a project from a couple of months ago.

These pillow covers were created for a tutorial for Thermoweb
and a
spring quilt market display for Anna Griffin Fabric.

The pattern has been very popular in my Craftsy shop, but I never dreamed how much my friends here at home would love them.

So, I hunted down more fabric on Esty from 2 great shops:

RebsFabStash and SewStitchingHappy

and
today I have completed 2 more pillow covers.

I had to follow my own pattern and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to understand.  As I write patterns, sometimes I'm not sure it makes sense or is coming across as I want it to.
If you want to make these pillow covers try out this pattern.
I tested it more than once and it's not bad.  lol

Sew yourself a ruffled flower pillow cover to dress up your front porch or, as my friend, give these as a gift for a bedding set.

They are super soft because you use
in the ruffle to create dimension and softness.
The ruffles in these large blooms are super simple with the technique in the pattern.

The full tutorial is on the ThermOWeb blog click - Here
and
You can download the PDF pattern from my Craftsy pattern store HERE.
or
click on this button.

Choose a couple of coordinating prints and sew up some pretty pillows!

Now I only have 2 more to make....
Have a happy weekend!
