Halloween Tic Tac Toe

 Have you been Halloween stitching?

I've been having so much fun with it.

This is my newest pattern and it's free over at Thermoweb,

Halloween Tic Tac Toe Game.

My kids have already played with it.

It's so fun to use as decor on a side table and can be played anytime during the season.

It only takes a few things to make this fun

Halloween Tic Tac Toe Game.

HeatnBond EZ Print Lite  iron-on adhesive – 2 sheets
along with fabric, felt, and Aurfil thread.

You won't believe how easy HeatnBond EZ Print Lite makes it to create the game pieces.

Check out the free pattern over at Thermoweb.

This is my favorite time of year for stitching.
We have a blog hop starting Monday
and
I'll be sharing a little more stitching for Halloween.

Snow Globe Zipper Pouch

It's a week of winter and snow globes over on the Thermoweb blog
and
I'm so happy to share a fun project over there.

I have the cutest little zipper pouches featuring
a reverse applique snow globe tutorial to share.

.  Team HeatNBond Lite with a fabric collection like Michael Miller Fabrics' Curiosity by Sandra Clemons to make sweet little fabric snow globes.

They make sweet gifts for a snow globe collector or anyone.

All the details and the free pattern and tutorial can be found over at Thermoweb.

I love these so much and these fabrics are too cute.
I may need more...

Hand Over the Chocolate - Project Quilting Season 10, Challenge 6

It's hard to believe this is the sixth and final challenge for Season 10
Project Quilting.

I'm excited to join in this challenge, "Craving Chocolate"

My entry:

Hand Over the Chocolate

Kim announces a challenge and you have one week to create something quilty.
Prizes can be won and it's a great way to meet new blogging friends.

THE RULES:

  1. Whether you choose the candy or the color, your project must be inspired by chocolate.
  2. Projects need to be created during the week of the challenge (started on or after March 17, finished by March 24).
  3. Your project does not need to be a traditional quilt, but must meet at least one of these three requirements: include patchwork, include appliqué, have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.
  4. Incomplete or unfinished does not qualify. Every challenge piece must be a FINISHED project seen through from INCEPTION to COMPLETION during the challenge timeline.
  5. Link up by Sunday, March 24 at noon CDT
--------------------------------------------------------------

I really didn't want to play with this theme too much.
I gave chocolate up for Lent.

So right away I thought, hand it right over.  I love chocolate so much.

A friend of mine is always showing up with a package of chocolate kisses.
As a nurse, she always has some for her patients.
She says people are so much more cooperative with a little chocolate.

She's so smart.

I made a little reversed appliqued hand.
This was inspired by a block I sent to Sarah over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict a few years ago for her Hands to Help challenge.

I quilted it with straight and wavy lines like the paper hand drawings.

Then I appliqued a chocolate kiss with grey fabric and added an original paper from the candy.
(I threw the candy away - if you were wondering) ugh.

Once the binding was finished, I felt like it needed a little more bling.
Deco Foil bling.

The pattern for the appliqued candy was good for Hot Melt adhesive and then
I crinkled the silver deco foil to make it look more like the candy and presto:

Hand Over the Chocolate.

Twinkle - Wish Upon a Star Blog Hop

Welcome to
Creatin' in the Sticks
where the stars are twinkling today.

The Wish Upon a Star Blog Hop
is hosted by my friend
and she has a super sweet giveaway for the hop.
Don't forget to enter over on her blog by clicking HERE.

I was so excited to make stars, so I started with a couple charm square packs
(Riley Blake's Willow), sliced a few and stitched them together.

Next, I made a table of stars in Word and printed them on one of my favorite
fusible applique tools, HeatnBond EZ Print Lite
No Tracing for me!!!

Some of the stars were reverse appliqued with white fabric in the middle.

And others were fused around the white border.

To embroider the words to Twinkle, twinkle little star I printed the letters on
StitchnSew EZ Quilt Block Sheets
and stitched the letters on my domestic machine with a triple stitch.
After the stitching is finished, the sheets just tear right off with no problem.

The quilt is quilted with bunnies and stars and the backing is a soft, Minky cuddle fabric.
I used batting in the middle and it's just right.

I love that song so much and will keep this quilt
for when my new granddaughter comes to visit my house.
It's the perfect size for her right now.

Have you been keeping up with the hop?

There are all kinds of quilty stars to see.

Here is the complete schedule:

May 21

May 22

May 23

May 24

Creatin' in the Sticks  You are here!!!

Thank you, Carol for a super fun hop!!

Backgammon Block for the Play With Me Quilt Along

It probably doesn't look like much to you
but it's a finish for me that I've been struggling all month to get done.

The skill for this backgammon block was reverse applique.
I've done this form of applique with fusibles, but never without.

I joined this quilt along to learn knew skills and this month was definitely a learning experience.

My machine doesn't like to satin stitch or something.... ugh

Lucky for me, this March block can still be posted today
and
I will still receive April's block.

Here are all the blocks for the quilt so far.
My hope it to give this away at Christmas...

even with the backgammon block.

haha

It's prom here tomorrow, so I won't accomplish much sewing.  I have hair to fix.
Have a happy weekend!
