Twinkle - Wish Upon a Star Blog Hop

Welcome to
Creatin' in the Sticks
where the stars are twinkling today.

The Wish Upon a Star Blog Hop
is hosted by my friend
and she has a super sweet giveaway for the hop.
Don't forget to enter over on her blog by clicking HERE.

I was so excited to make stars, so I started with a couple charm square packs
(Riley Blake's Willow), sliced a few and stitched them together.

Next, I made a table of stars in Word and printed them on one of my favorite
fusible applique tools, HeatnBond EZ Print Lite
No Tracing for me!!!

Some of the stars were reverse appliqued with white fabric in the middle.

And others were fused around the white border.

To embroider the words to Twinkle, twinkle little star I printed the letters on
StitchnSew EZ Quilt Block Sheets
and stitched the letters on my domestic machine with a triple stitch.
After the stitching is finished, the sheets just tear right off with no problem.

The quilt is quilted with bunnies and stars and the backing is a soft, Minky cuddle fabric.
I used batting in the middle and it's just right.

I love that song so much and will keep this quilt
for when my new granddaughter comes to visit my house.
It's the perfect size for her right now.

Have you been keeping up with the hop?

There are all kinds of quilty stars to see.

Here is the complete schedule:

May 21

May 22

May 23

May 24

May 25

Creatin' in the Sticks  You are here!!!

Thank you, Carol for a super fun hop!!

This is a really cute quilt, Carla! I love the appliqued stars, and I really love the writing. Thanks for sharing how you did that. I got some of the Stitch & Sew, erroneously I thought, once. It wasn't a mistake after all, because now I know what to do with it. :) Thanks for sharing--your granddaughter will love it!

This is sew cute, Carla. You are always sew creative ... amazing! Thank you for showing how you did this, especially the lettering. I have never tried this product but I have tried lettering in a similar manner before. This method looks much easier and crisper. Going to have to try this soon .... :-) Pat

Hi Carla,
What a sweet baby quilt, and I just love the idea of your NEW granddaughter getting to use it when she comes for a visit. It's even better when you get to wrap her in it and get to snuggle - oh those times are so fabulous.

This is really cute! And what a clever way to a) get your words on the quilt, and b) stitch them! (I guess that involved a ton of turning the quilt, huh?)

happy sewing ~ Tracy

All the sweet additional details of the appliqued stars and embroidery of the lyrics made this a lovely quilt. It's sure to become a treasure for your grand daughter! I'm going to have to give that Stitch and Sew a try...clever.

The stars really make the simple patchwork shine!
The verse wrapping right around the quilt really amps up the quilt.
It turned something sew simple into something sew special ... and for one sweet Granddaughter too! :)
