Backgammon Block for the Play With Me Quilt Along

It probably doesn't look like much to you
but it's a finish for me that I've been struggling all month to get done.

The skill for this backgammon block was reverse applique.
I've done this form of applique with fusibles, but never without.

I joined this quilt along to learn knew skills and this month was definitely a learning experience.

My machine doesn't like to satin stitch or something.... ugh

Lucky for me, this March block can still be posted today
and
I will still receive April's block.

Here are all the blocks for the quilt so far.
My hope it to give this away at Christmas...

even with the backgammon block.

haha

It's prom here tomorrow, so I won't accomplish much sewing.  I have hair to fix.
Have a happy weekend!

Your block looks amazing! I had issues in the past with satin stitches as well... I think that adding an additional layer of stabilizer on the back helped my machine... but it's not something I like too much, that's why I used a simple straight stitch and left the edges a little raw :) The three blocks together looks so striking! Beautiful color choices! Thanks for playing along and for linking on the blog!

Quilters are so ingeniously creative ... love it. That reverse appliqué takes some concentration, hey?!

Wow - these blocks look terrific all together in a quilt! I haven't seen anyone else show their blocks like this. Wonder how you are going to do this month's board game... : )
