This is the fourth challenge of Season 14 of Project Quilting.
My entry:
Vanishing Stars
Kim at Persimon Dreams hosts Project Quilting
and
and
this is the 10th year I'm participating.
Kim announces a challenge and you have one week to create something quilty.
Prizes can be won and it's a great way to meet new blogging friends.
The rule in this challenge is to be inspired by a book you have read.
It must include either applique, piecing, or have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.
I had just finished the book, "The Forest of Vanishing Stars", by Kristin Harmel when the challenge was announced. It seemed like the logical choice of books.
This is a historical fiction novel (my favorite kind of read)
about survival in World War II.
It's sooooo good. It's one that I just couldn't put down.
I've kind of developed a theme this year for the challenges of quilting tiny.
This was a tough one, as I wanted to do so many details, but in the end,
each tiny star is inspired by a part of the book.
The black and white star is for a pivotal person/moment in the book.
You'll have to read it to see.

The flipped corner center star was the icing on the proverbial cake, Carla. You amaze me with your tiny piecing skills!!
So tiny, I am impressed;) Nice idea to have a theme for these challenges.
Amazing and beautiful! Those tiny pieces and the various stars! Wow! You did it again. (I want to read that book too.)
Wow, those are just marvelous tiny works of art! Well done!
I enjoy Harmel's books, but have not read that one.
All those little pinny's make my heart happy! Beautiful job.
Wonderful interpretation! I have added this book to my library list. But no pincushion for me!
Wow, I'm impressed. I don't even do 2.5" 4 patches! That is so interesting that you made it to match the book. I will have to look for that one.
This is amazing and looks great with your first three! This book is now on my reading list!
