One Color, Nine Shades - Project Quilting Season14, Challenge 1

This is the first challenge of Season 14 of Project Quilting.

I'm excited to join in the challenge -  The First One

My entry:
One Color, Nine Shades

this is the 10th year I'm participating.
Kim announces a challenge and you have one week to create something quilty.
Prizes can be won and it's a great way to meet new blogging friends.

The rules in this challenge are that the project must feature the number one.
It must include either applique, piecing, or have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.

I decided to take the color route and use ONE color.
I made a paper piece pattern.

Chose 9 shades of green fabric.

Checked the values with a grey scale photo.

And stitched

I love this little in cushion Carla, and what a great idea to sharpen ones colour savvy. I'll check out this challenge. And the pattern for this little sweetie. How do I go about drawing one similar?
Thanks Lynn
