Welcome
to the Sticks
and
the second day of the
"Sweet on You Challenge"
Here is my finished
Rainbow Wild Star Quilt.
create something inspired by something they are sweet on.
Thanks, Joan, for inviting me!
First off, I am sweet on rainbow quilts.
My favorite color pallet is RAINBOW and rainbow scrappy is even more of a
"sweet on you" for me.
I participated in the Wild Star Sew-Along over on Instagram with
If you click on Lindlee, she still has the pattern info available
in her stories under the Wild Star SAL tab.
Sorry about the creases, but I just unpacked this quilt.
Here is why:
We are sweet on our Kansas City Chiefs football!
Tradition says that if the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl,
we have to watch it in Las Vegas
at a certain party, in a certain booth,
wearing the same shirts...
you get the idea.
We just had to do our part for the WIN.The year we didn't go watch the super bowl in Vegas, 2021 (covid), our Chiefs lost.
And since we were going to Vegas, there were a couple of other
"sweet-on-you"
things we wanted to do!
She had just signed up for a class at one of our favorite quilt shops,
to make seam rippers. I was sooo in!
Eye protection first, I was so scared -
Carol was so brave and showed us all how it was done.
It starts out as a block of wood. You can see it on the lathe.
It's so fun to play once the nerves settled down...
Zach was a great teacher. We handled the power tools like champs!
And our final "sweet" results-
Carol's is on the left and mine is the red multiCan you be "sweet on you" with a seam ripper?
Another "sweet on you" thing we like to do in Las Vegas is watch
I had taken the Rainbow Wild Star quilt to Las Vegas to get pictures,
this is not what I had in mind:
It was freezing in Vegas so I was glad the quilt had made the trip with us.I was double "sweet on you" for this quilt with a minky fabric backing that day.
Check out the others that are "sweet on you" today:
In the end, we made it home with the win and "sweet on you" memories!Challenge complete!
