Patchwork for the Kitchen - In The Kitchen Stitchin' Blog Hop

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
my day - the final day for the In the Kitchen Stitchin' Blog Hop.

To all that participated or commented -
Thank you so much!
I enjoy hosting blog hop events so much.

My head is swimming with all kinds of ideas
and I can't wait to get to stitching.

But first, it's my day to show my
Patchwork for the Kitchen.

My kitchen has been undergoing a floor renovation so I had to take my pictures outside.
I didn't want sawdust in my new kitchen pretties...

I'm working on using up the fabric in my stash this year.

This patchwork dish towel and potholders
were super fun to make and used up some 2 1/2" squares.

I purchased this package of Flour Sack Towels at my local Sam's several years ago
and
this was the perfect opportunity to
follow a tutorial over at Crazy Mom Quilts I had seen for a Simple Patchwork Dish Towel.

Then an "aha" moment!
This is the perfect project for those little mini charm packs.

And is perfect for Halloween or for gifts!

Then another "aha" moment!
This is the perfect project for those 3" quilt blocks I've had sitting in a box.

Great for the grill too!

We are celebrating the kitchen
with projects during the
In the Kitchen Stitchin' blog hop.

I'm sharing my day with these bloggers:

This blog hop is for everyone!
Have fun visiting each blog and making new friends.

They have worked hard to show us some new ideas, so be sure to thank them with
a sweet comment!

All adorable kitchen items. I really love the towels with the 3" blocks a lot.

I love the idea of using the 3" blocks. I made several to challenge myself several months back and I didn't know what to do with them till now. Your pot holders and dish towels are great. Thank you for sharing and for hosting this awesome hop!

Carla, when you get back into your kitchen, it is going to be a pretty darn happy place to be with all these new pretties! Flour sack dish towels are my absolute favorite. My love for them go way back to my grandmother. She always stitched a colorful decorative stitch around the edges with embroidery floss. Mine just get used as is. How boring is that! But now you’ve inspired me to pretty them up. Making a set of potholders to match is awesome! I love all your sets, I’ve tried to choose a favorite but it can’t be done.
Big thanks for organizing this blog hop!!!

As usual, you have wow'd us with your creativity. Using up your stash has definitely produced some beautiful kitchen items. Of course, I am leaning towards the Halloween ones as my favorites, but I love them all! Thank you for sharing ways to use our stash for the kitchen.

Those are all so beautiful! I love the bright, the Halloween and those tiny pieced blocks oh my! I wouldn't want to use them at all and get the white towels all dirty. My hubby bought black towels for our kitchen for that very reason is they won't show any dirt or pasta sauce on them, lol!

love the idea of gift sets especially using up scraps. Using those 3" blocks was a stellar idea for 'using' at the grill.

Carla, your projects are wonderful. My first thought was that the brightly colored ones were my favorites but then you threw in the Halloween ones and the orphan blocks in black and white...oh dear. Love them all. Thanks, too, for all your organizational skills. It's been a fun hop - definitely some inspiration for me to get working on those kitchen projects.

Carla you do have some fun projects and since I’m working from my stash, too, you just inspired me. Somewhere I have some mini Christmas charms and just remembered I had picked up some kitchen towels with a little red truck on them. It’s time to find them and play I think. 😉

Hi,
I'm so sorry I didn't post my Kitchen Stitchin' this week. I had a total mental block on this one. I couldn't come up with any thing to use for this blog hop. Have a great day!

Oh my goodness, what a great way to use up so many things we have laying around in our sewing rooms. You know you hit Carol Swift and I right in our Halloween lovin' hearts one of those fun kitchen sets. I LOVE your stove. How cool is that?
