Pink Trail - Project Quilting Quilting Season 12, Challenge 4

This is the fourth challenge of Season 12 of Project Quilting.

I'm excited to join in the challenge -  Snail's Trail

My entry:
Pink Trail

this is the 9th year I'm participating.
Kim announces a challenge and you have one week to create something quilty.
Prizes can be won and it's a great way to meet new blogging friends.

The rules in this challenge are that the project must be inspired by the snail's trail quilt block. It must include either applique, piecing, or have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.

I'm on a roll with paper pieced pincushions (this is my 4th)
so
I kept with my season 12 theme and made a tiny snail's trail block with some modifications.

The block is a fun one, but I wanted to add more fabrics to it.
I drew the block and divided each section into itty bitty segments.
The finished pincushion is 4" square so you can imagine how small these pieces are.
I've had inquiries into what I use for foundation paper piecing -

I can print the pattern on the sheet from my computer and they are tough enough to allow me to stitch tiny pieces without falling apart, but I can remove the pieces easily.
I use tweezers to remove those little bits.

There is just something about pairing pink and black together.
It's one of my favorite color combinations.

I'm always looking for a chance to use Aurifil thread:  50wt # 4660 - love!

I've been studying this one since I first saw it. As much as I love pincushions and small pieces, I just have to try this. And now that I've been making a snail's trail block already, I think I'm ready for this. Your colours combination is perfect.
