Fussy Words - Project Quilting Quilting Season 12, Challenge 2

This is the second challenge of Season 12 of Project Quilting.

I'm excited to join in the challenge -  Fussy Cut
My entry:
Fussy Words

this is the 9th year I'm participating.
Kim announces a challenge and you have one week to create something quilty.
Prizes can be won and it's a great way to meet new blogging friends.

The rules in this challenge are that the project must feature a fussy cut of some beloved fabrics and feature the best parts. It must include either applique, piecing, or have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.

I chose this wordy fabric.  It was a fat quarter at one time but has no selvage.  I would love to tell you the manufacturer or designer, but I have no idea.  If you know, let me know.

Update:  thank you Unknown (no reply comment) for the info!
The fabric is Odds and Ends by Julie Comstock of Cosmo Cricket for Moda

I had so much fun with my last Project Quilting Challenge that I decided to go down the same road with a different pattern.
I designed and printed a paper pieced pattern for tiny pieces

and made myself another pincushion.

I picked out the phrases that I liked the most
or
(in truth) the ones that fit the space.
Too much fun!

Fussy Words Pincushion

Project Quilting Season 12, Challenge 2 - Fussy Cut

Made by Carla in Dodge City, Kansas
Size: 4" x 4"
Foundation paper piecing, quilting on a domestic with Aurifil 50 wt thread
and
stuffed with crushed walnut shells

I don't know if the challenges will continue to let me make these super fun pincushions, but I wouldn't mind having more!

That fabric and pincushion are just adorable. Wish you did know where is came from, but I'm sure it's probably long gone by now anyway! Very adorable.

Am I sensing a theme, Carla? LOVE these fussy cut phrases! I really need to go get some more crushed walnut shells, as mine got used up no so long ago.

What perfect fabric for fussy cutting! I have some similar fabric, but the words/font is much larger. I thought about using it somehow for this week's challenge, but moved onto other fabrics instead. Love those pincushions!

LOVE that pincushion!! (and I loved that yellow and gray one too when you showed it off--still do love it, by the way) What a great way to fussy cut!

I think this fabric is Odds and Ends by Julie Comstock of Cosmo Cricket for Moda.

I would really like to know where you obtained the perfect sized paper piece square for the pincushion, because I have to make this!

Such a cute pinnie! I had some of that same fabric, just a tiny piece, and I made a coneflower, using the words as the petals of the flower. Thanks for letting me know the details on the fabric, too. I didn't have any information, so this is helpful.
