Travel Gifts

My friend Sheri and I have worked together as hairstylists, side by side, for over 26 years.
(We started when we were born)  ;)

We've just returned from Las Vegas, Nevada where we attended
NAHA and the Aquage Master Class.

Here we are on our first red carpet.

We try to travel for education at least once a year.

I don't know about you, but I am a little squeamish when it comes to hotel linens.
I don't know why it bothers me, but I usually take my own pillow on car trips and when I fly and can't fit my pillow in, I take a pillow case.

With this in mind, I decided to make my friend a pillowcase of her own and a lingerie  bag.

The lingerie bag front is the  "We Support You" Friendship Quilt Pattern from Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt
and
the bag was made by following Jen's Pants Bag Tutorial over at Glinda Quilts.
The fabrics are Tula Pink's Moonshine and Kona cotton - silver for the background.

There are hundreds of pillow case tutorials online.
I made this one with the
Magic Pillowcase Tutorial over at Lovely Little Handmades.

These pillowcases are so much fun to make and I decided to make myself one too.

The fabrics for my pillowcase are from the She Who Sews collection
by Janet Wecker Frisch.  Take my advice -I love the design on my pillow but try to find soft fabric for your pillowcases.

One more picture to show from our trip.
This is Sheri and I with our fellow Kansas hair stylist, Eric Fisher.
He didn't win this year at NAHA, but he's a master for sure.
We learned so much and had a very nice trip.
Now, back to work.

It sounds like it was a great trip and I love your cute bag. The pillowcases are super pretty too.
