It's a "Wild" Life BOM - April Blocks - The Big Tree and The Little Tree Stand Tall Blocks

Because tomorrow is April 1st and Easter,
released her design for
It's a "Wild" Life Block of the Month
a day early.

The Big Tree and The Little Tree Stand Tall Blocks

You can find the patterns in Carol's Craftsy Pattern Shop
by clicking HERE.

Aren't they cute?!

THERE IS NO NEED TO CHANGE OR ADD A THING TO THESE BLOCKS!!
They are perfect for the quilt.

Carol explained the Block of the Month like this:

So what is a "Block of the Month or BOM?
The Sew Incredibly Crazy design team creates blocks to share with you.
They are free the month of their release but will have a small fee after that.
You sew the blocks we design using your own fabrics.
There's a theme to our craziness and we'd like you to be crazy with us, not off
on your own, so please try to keep your blocks looking pretty close to ours.

Did you miss the first two months?

Here are my versions:

February-
Maple Leaves - Block #1 Click HERE for the pattern.

March-
Deer Meadow - Block #2 click HERE for the pattern
Thank you to all that made my block design sing!!

I'm using fabric from my stash this year.
These blocks are perfect for extra fabric laying around.
(who has extra?  lol)

Here is the list of designers
who will be participating in the rest
this year's hop:

May

June

July

August

September

October

November

December

January

All the blocks are free
for the month that they
have been released.
After that, there
will be a small fee.

Come
quilt along with us.

There will be a
monthly prize drawing
for those
who finish the blocks
from great sponsors!

This month's sponsor is

Make a block and link it up over at Amy's blog to enter.

Join us for a "Wild" Life!
And
if you haven't already,
 join the
Facebook group
you can find it HERE.

Let's get a little "WILD" together
BUT
be nice and show a little respect!!

My 2 cents...

This is my blog and I can say things here I wouldn't normally say on social media...

(My deer block was really abused by some (a few) last month)

If you don't like the block, follow the GOLDEN RULE and do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Just don't do the block.  Please don't butcher a designer's work. Being creative and adding your own touch is one thing, but changing the block completely or doing your own thing is unacceptable in a BOM.  Become a designer and make your own BOM.  Don't destroy mine.

I'll soon do a post on Block of the Month etiquette for online quilt alongs.
I feel like something needs to be said because some people just don't get it.
Don't ruin the fun for others!!

Now let's get on with the fun...

30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days Blog Hop and Sew Along Schedule

30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days
 is
coming in April!

It's like a month-long quilting party with friends and gifts.

I just finished all 30 blocks and put them in a quilt
to show how they look together.

This is the second one I've made with all the blocks.
The finished size with the 3" border is 56" x 66".

This adventure began last December
and
we made 30 simple blocks with squares and rectangles.

Perfect for a beginning quilter and a nice fast project for anyone.

You can find the details of this quilt by clicking HERE.

The response was incredible and the request was made to choose another time to do it again,
so I invited a few All Star bloggers to join me this time.

They will be showing new quilt designs for each block.

30 days of designers
showing new and different ways to use each of the
30 quilt blocks.

Keep in mind, these are super simple blocks but each one can make a beauty of a quilt.

You can quilt along too.

At the end of 30 days, we will have a quilt or quilts
and hopefully a smaller scrap pile.

If you want to make each block, here are the
fabric requirements:

To make all individual blocks as pictured in the tab above:  white - 2 1/8 yards
All other fabrics are scraps but if you want to use one color the yardage is 1 1/8 yard.
The quilt above has 3" white borders which would require about 3/4 yard more fabric.

This time,
I'll be using Tula Pink's brand new collection:
All Stars
to show each block.

I took a picture of the fat quarter bundle before I started cutting.

Don't you love these fabrics?

Did I mention I have 2 fat quarter bundles?
One for me and one for you.
Yep, I'll be giving away this bundle for the blog hop and sew along.

I've assembled an All-Star cast of bloggers to show how to use each block in a different way.
Some of them will have gifts to share too.

Want to get a head start?

All the links to the blocks are listed below with the designer and the day they will be our
All-Star.
