Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange - Diamond Gnome Quilt Block and Pecan Cookie Bars

Welcome to
Creatin' in the Sticks!

I'm excited to kick off the
where bloggers are sharing Christmas cookies recipes, traditions,
and/or
sewing projects.
Thank you, Carol, for including me!

Merry Christmas!

It's been a crazy year and I think we are all ready to start a new one.
Then Christmas comes along and things seem a little happier and brighter.
This gnome was supposed to be a larger project, but you know, life...

The block would be so cute in a quilt, but he is happy to be a
cheerful companion in the kitchen for me.

Click HERE if you would like to purchase the 7" finished
Diamond Gnome Quilt Block Pattern.

But, maybe you came for the virtual cookies.

These are quick and easy Pecan Cookie Bars.
Like the pie without the goo and sooooo good.

If you want more cookie recipes, you are in luck.

Please leave each one a sweet comment.
Spread some Christmas cheer.

Thank you for stopping by
and
thank you, Carol for hosting this annual event!
It's hard to believe we've been doing this since 2013.
I don't really cook THAT much.  lol

Have the best holiday season!

Patchwork for the Kitchen - In The Kitchen Stitchin' Blog Hop

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
my day - the final day for the In the Kitchen Stitchin' Blog Hop.

To all that participated or commented -
Thank you so much!
I enjoy hosting blog hop events so much.

My head is swimming with all kinds of ideas
and I can't wait to get to stitching.

But first, it's my day to show my
Patchwork for the Kitchen.

My kitchen has been undergoing a floor renovation so I had to take my pictures outside.
I didn't want sawdust in my new kitchen pretties...

I'm working on using up the fabric in my stash this year.

This patchwork dish towel and potholders
were super fun to make and used up some 2 1/2" squares.

I purchased this package of Flour Sack Towels at my local Sam's several years ago
and
this was the perfect opportunity to
follow a tutorial over at Crazy Mom Quilts I had seen for a Simple Patchwork Dish Towel.

Then an "aha" moment!
This is the perfect project for those little mini charm packs.

And is perfect for Halloween or for gifts!

Then another "aha" moment!
This is the perfect project for those 3" quilt blocks I've had sitting in a box.

Great for the grill too!

We are celebrating the kitchen
with projects during the
In the Kitchen Stitchin' blog hop.

I'm sharing my day with these bloggers:

This blog hop is for everyone!
Have fun visiting each blog and making new friends.

They have worked hard to show us some new ideas, so be sure to thank them with
a sweet comment!

Virtual Cookie Exchange and Christmas Blog Hop

It's time to make Christmas happen here in the Sticks

and

my friend Carol at Just Let Me Quilt
has a way of pushing me to get my projects finished on time.

Welcome to
Creatin' in the Sticks!

I've been busy making a few things
including these ornament potholders.

They are 8" potholders and so fun to make.
The perfect way to use leftover Christmas fabrics and batting scraps.

A double layer of cotton batting inside and the stripes are a
pleated effect to add extra heat protection.

It always seems like my kitchen lacks in Christmas decor
and these will be super cute hanging on the backsplash.

They would make great gifts too!

But you are here not only for Christmas inspiration but for some virtual cookies.

These cookies are so good and not too sweet.
A friend gave me some last year and I just had to have the recipe.
They are made with a pie crust - there is no way that can be wrong!!!
Cranberries, walnuts, orange zest, and drizzled in honey.

It's Christmas in a bite!

They remind me of my Grandma making pinwheels
out of leftover pie dough with cinnamon sugar and butter.

The recipe is over at diethood.

If you want more cookie recipes, you are in luck.

Please leave each one a sweet comment.
Spread some Christmas cheer.

Thank you for stopping by
and
thank you, Carol, for this fun hop!

I hope your Christmas is amazing!

One More Fall Project ... and then DEALS!

What a great holiday Thanksgiving is!

It reminds us to be thankful and show our gratitude for the blessings in our lives.

Do you have a hostess gift ready for giving?
I hate showing up to a dinner party without a little gift.

I finished my gift up today and am grateful I was able to spend my morning sewing
 instead of cleaning.
 *big smile*!!
Our hostess has purple dishes and this potholder should make a nice addition to her
Thanksgiving kitchen.
The fabric is "Just One of Those Days" by Robert Kaufman and you can find the free pattern by clicking HERE.

Pumpkin Palooza - Decorate for Fall with Two Quick Projects from One Quilt Pattern with HeatnBond EZ Print Lite

Don't you love the new colors of fall?  Fall decorating doesn't have to be only orange, brown, and yellow in color anymore.  With pumpkins showing up in all different colors, it's fun to add aquas, greys, and whites to compliment and add a modern flair to traditional fall decor.

Today, I'm over on the Thermoweb blog to share a pumpkin applique quilt block pattern using HeatNBond EZ Print Lite and 2 quick projects using the quilt block and the new fabric collection from Windham Fabrics, Meriwether.

This pattern is so easy with HeatnBond® Lite EZ Print!
Just print the patterns right on to the adhesive and cut them out.

All of the details and the tutorial are over at Thermoweb.

UPDATE:  I've received several emails that the pattern download is not working over at Thermoweb.
You can find the full PDF at my Craftsy Store HERE.
