My Happy Place Row Along - Quilt Reveal Day and Giveaway

Sadly, the My Happy Place Row Along is coming to a close.

Marian at Seams to be Sew has been our host for this super fun row along.
Thank you, Marian.

Today is
QUILT SHOW  DAY
where we show off the projects we made with all these fun rows.

There were over 40 designers over the last 6 weeks offering quilt row patterns
from each one's "happy place".

This is the row I introduced at the beginning of the row along:

Happy Hour

The row finished is 12" x 30"
You can download the pattern at my Craftsy Pattern Shop.

I used the row to make a quilt by adding 10" blocks and two borders.

The palm trees and flowers on the corners are the same appliques that are in the

I just printed the patterns for the palm trees and flowers again.

didn't trace a single piece of this applique.
I just printed the applique pages right onto the

The background fabrics for the row were supplied by Northcott.

I received four 1/4 yard pieces of Stonehenge Gradations Brights
and
by adding a little white fabric I was able to make my new quilt.

It's the perfect beach mat size - 43" x 45" with a fun Minky print on the back.

Happy Hour - My Happy Place Row Along - Pattern and Giveaways

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
The My Happy Place Row Along.

It's Happy Hour here in the Sticks!

And it's "Happy Hour" for my quilt row too.

There's no better place on earth than a tropical beach, the sun setting, and a margarita truck.
Well, for me anyway.
I've never seen a margarita truck, but I think it would be fun and a little bit better than ice cream.
It could drive around playing Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett.

Put this scene in my backyard and add my family and it would be perfect.

Oh, and a food truck would be nice too.
(this is a hint for another pattern coming soon)

That is my Happy Place.

The Christmas Carol Row Along - Quilt Reveal Day - Santa Land and Giveaway

Sadly, the Christmas Carol Row-Along is coming to a close.

Today is
QUILT SHOW  DAY
where we show off the projects we made with all these fun rows.
There were over 40 rows!

This was the row I introduced in the beginning of the Row Along
which became a 9" x 30" table runner.

Next I used my row to make three 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" blocks by using background fabric and placing the applique pieces accordingly.

For the appliques, I used my favorite fabric iron on adhesive,
by

I needed one more block for my quilt layout,
so I designed another Santa to go with the others.
The Cowboy Santa block is also 9 1/2" x 9 1/2".

The original plan was to make a quilt with these 9 1/2"  blocks in the middle
and 4 other rows around them,

but
I had all of these super cute fabrics from

(I loved these fabrics so much for my row, I ordered even more to make this quilt).

Here is the layout I used with finished block measurements.
The quilt is 60" x 60" finished.

The design works perfect for 4 rows,
a huge block in the center,
and
a 9" border with corner blocks (the santa blocks from above).

To achieve the big center block, I enlarged the row pieces from the
by 200%
and
chose different pieces from each santa to make the block on an 18" background.

Will the Real Santa Please Stand Up? big quilt block.

Then I chose 4 rows with a Santa theme for the quilt.

Thank you to the following designers for these fun quilt rows:

And all that happy Northcott fabric in the border.
