Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks

Joan over at MooseStash Quilting

It's been a great year here in the Sticks
and
it all started with the
Challenge.
that are fast and fun to make alone or combined in countless combinations
for quick quilts.
I've made it a goal to make a quilt out of each block
and
today I've made one of the most popular of all the blocks into a quilt.
The block is Dutch Door (Block #4)
and is the 3rd most popular of all 30 blocks.
(This statistic is from page visits and Pinterest shares)
This block is so great for beginning quilters
and
a fun, fast block for a modern quilt.
This Dutch Door Quilt is made from 20 blocks and a 1" finished border.
Size: 42" x 52"
The fabric is from the Charlotte Collection by Anna Griffin with a background of Kona white.
The quilt has lots of negative space for some fun quilting.
I tried a different backing fabric and it's so pretty.
It's a flannel backed satin and it quilts so beautifully. It's buttery soft too.
Thank you, Joan, for this super fun hop!

Lovely quilt!
Your quilting is breathtaking! Where did you find the flannel-backed satin? I love the simplicity of this quilt. In my quirky mind, I see the doors in bright colors against a monster background. Thank you for the inspiration.

From one of my favorite hops of the year, what a fab quilt.. That design really does give you that modern feel, yet is fun and fab at the same time. I bet that flannel is going to make that quilt very comfy.
Very lovely quilt from such a simple block. Thanks for the look at the backing, I had never thought to use a flannel backed satin as a backing. It looks so luxurious!
