With the progression of blocks, this one was a must.
It's really simple, but the color combinations are limitless
and
it can be stitched together with many techniques.
There is always a place for
Sweet Sixteen
Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"
Construction method 1:
Cut 16 squares 3" x 3" - eight purple / eight white
Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Construction Method 2:
Cut 4 rectangles 3" x 12" - two purple / two white
Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Cut this unit in 3" strips.
Rotate every other row.
Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Look at this Stash busting quilt.
Add 22 plain blocks to 50 Sweet Sixteen blocks.
In an 8 block by 9 block grid this quilt is 80" x 90".
The blank area could be appliqued or left for lots of quilting fun.

Catching up is on my list today! Your instructions are perfect!
Great idea to add the dark and light for a "pop".
Hi Carol,
I got behind on the blocks this week, but I love this two color, or multi-shade block. So versatile and easy.
