I've just finished this block
and later today it is headed to the
The theme for the quilt block contest this year is
Kick Up Your Heels.
My regular readers will remember this quilt.
You Can Can Can.
Originally blogged HERE.
I used the template for the can can dancers and put two dancers on a stage for a 12inch block.
The skirts are satin ribbon I gathered into ruffles. The faces and hair are machined stitched with two threads in the needle. I used a decorative stitch on my Janome sewing machine for the trim on the curtains.
Fusible was used for the legs with Moda Basic Grey Little Black Dress floral lace fabric. I used a blanket stitch around the legs.
We will see if the judges think this says kick up your heels.
Wish me luck.

I hope you get some pictures of the other entries.
Carla, I think you nailed it.
I have not forgotten your can-can dancers. I have bought your patten in order to use it on an evening purse. Of course you should win first price in the challenge.
Best of luck to you, but you don't need it. I loved your first can can quilt and this block is just as beautiful. You just HAVE to win.
Don't understand how you could not win with this block. Love it!
I remember the quilt and your new block is super fun and is sure to win, so creative!

I sure do remember that quilt .
Of course I wish you good luck, (but I do not think you need any luck) The quilt will just win on its merits and its uniqueness.
