Island Batik Ambassador 2019 - BOXES!!

Imagine my surprise when
these HUGE boxes arrived here in the Sticks.

Did I miss an email?
Yes, the day before I had received an email
to announce that I had made the cut and I am an
 Island Batik Ambassador for 2019.

I'm so excited and I have to show
what is in these boxes.

These items were provided to me by Island Batik:

Lots of Batik fabrics, rayon fabric,
 Aurifil threads, Hobbs batting galore,
a gorgeous rayon scarf, Island Batik pins, a surprise package
and
an Accuquilt - Ready, Set, Go! Ultimate fabric cutting system!

WOW!
But let's take a closer look.

Look at these Island Batik fabrics!

I received a surprise package of fabric that I can't share yet
but it is beautiful and it will be worth the wait.

8 foundation Island Batik 1/2 yard cuts

I received two packages of 5″ strips of assorted batiks, there are 2.8 yards in each package!

Look at all these fabric bundles of yardage.

How about these beautiful blues?
This is an Island Stacks in French Blue with coordinating fabric yardage.

Rayon fabric for maybe a skirt?
and
a fringy scarf.

A sweet assortment of my favorite Aurifil threads.

A huge stash of Hobbs Batting.

Oh, and one last thing...

Oh my goodness.
I had to try this out right away!

(I didn't even do my hair for the video)

That's a lot of fun!

I want to thank Island Batik for sending me all of these goodies.

I’ll be sharing projects, quilts, or tutorials each month as an

A Time For All Seasons - 2019 Block of the Month

Welcome to the 2019 Block of the Month

A Time For All Seasons!

In this Block of the Month,
we will have two 10-inch blocks every month for one year.

One block will be pieced and one block will be applique.

The Quilt:

The quilt at the end will be 62" x 74"
with 2" sashings and border.
5 blocks across / 6 blocks down
There will be 6 bonus blocks for a total of 30 blocks.
With 2" sashings
you will need 4 yards of background fabric and 2 1/2 yards of sashing fabric.

I'm using scraps from my stash for the rest of the fabric,
but you could use a fat quarter bundle for the appliques and piecing.
