The Magical Needle - Queen of Gadgets Blog Hop and Giveaway

Welcome
to
the first day of the
Queen of Gadgets Blog Hop.

I'm happy to kick things off with
The Magical Needle.

Carol of Just Let Me Quilt invited bloggers to make a project with a favorite sewing tool
and
tell exactly why we love it.

What better tool to start the hop with than the foundation for all sewing, the magical needle?

Thank you, Carol, for inviting me to join this super fun blog hop!

I think the sewing needle is certainly the queen of all gadgets and has been around since pre-historic times.  There are so many types of sewing needles and if you can understand the size of a needle, you have accomplished something.
Who decided the sizing of needles???
The larger the number the smaller the needle?

My witch really likes a big needle!

She is stitching to get ready for Halloween
and
is joining my Stitchy Witchy table runner witches...

You can find that pattern HERE.

"The Magical Needle" witch pattern is the sitting down witch from the runner,
only I enlarged her and made a very large needle.

After all, it's about the gadgets this week.

Check out the others sharing gadgets today:

I'm sure you will find all kinds of useful gadgets on this adventure.
Cross my heart and hope to die,
Stick a needle in my eye...

I haven't made a Halloween quilt in years and lately have been thinking it would be fun to make another one for my daughter's family as they love halloween so much.

We have to have a needle or there is no sewing! I think you must have figured out the queen of gadgets for sure, Carla! I love your witch with the needle and little pumpkin quilt! The witchy table runner is amazing too!

Carla!...how cute ALL your hand stitching witches are! Perfect decor for the home of a sewist. Now you remind me that I forgot to put a needle in the border of my wall quilt. I love that your stitching witch has stitched herself a pumpkin for carving. I love seeing all the colors of Halloween in your post!

Your little witch is great! I wonder what she will make with her big needle.

What great Halloween projects. I love the colors. Those fat quarters would make great little pillows for decorating.

Your project is cute! Never enough needles of all kinds.Keeping track of all the different kinds I need is a task. And yes, the numbering always confuses me.

Carol Swift said...

There would be no sewing, by hand or machine, without out those beloved needles. One as big as your witchy one might be a little overwhelming, though! Your quilt is wickedly beautiful and that runner is just the best! Thanks for sharing your gadget!

I need a Magical Needle Witch in my sewing room to keep my needles threaded and sharp! I'm sure there is a spell for that. What a great start to this blog hop. Your quilt is darling, and I love the table runner. Thank you so much for the pattern.

We can't sew without a needle, but one just a little smaller than the one Stitchy Witchy is holding. Your Stitchy Witchy is too stinkin' cute! Love the bright happy colors used.

The needle is where it all begins. Your little mini is sooo cute. Wonderful job on it too.

I love your magic needle and think your designs are wonderfully creepy, too. Oh, dear, 'stick a needle in my eye', good grief, I hope that never happens!

Kathy E. said...

A sharp needle is certainly basic to any sewing. Every witch needs at least one to keep her cape and bloomers in tip top shape! I always love your creativity!

Your needle is the perfect gadget! Without it we could not sew! Love it.

So true, we all do need needles. The sizing can be confusing though I agree. Your witch quilt is so cute.

How appropriate. While going through boxes a box was handed to me to go through. All sorts of pieces of paper with needles, all different sizes! My daughter says I officially have enough needles to last a lifetime. If I was a newborn. LOL Love your piece you created, you are so imaginative and talented!

Sandy Panagos said...

That has to be the cutest Halloween witch ever! And I can definitely see why you call Carol's bunny "creepy"!
