Welcome to the first day of the
Time in a Bottle Blog Hop!
I'm happy to kick things off with
"Goin' Through Time"
with an hourglass block.
Thank you, Carol, for inviting me to join this super fun blog hop!
when I made this mug rug for the
and I cut strips of varying widths to fit with the hourglass blocks.
It was so fun to design and put together this
Rainbow Hourglass quilt
that I call
Goin' Through Time
I have a free tutorial to make hourglass blocks that I made several years ago.
Goin' Through Time
is about 40" x 50" and is quilted with a simple meander.
The backing is a grey Minky fabric for coziness.

Your “ Looking through an Hour Glass quilt… is stunning.
A fun and colourful quilt, I love the rainbow effect through the hourglasses!
What a fun quilt!
Happy and beautiful. Two words from me that describe my feelings about your quilt. This one sings, some quilts do that. This one is singing a happy tune. Thanks fo creating it.
Yowsa!! Hourglass blocks, meh. But you have once again proved that an artist can make anything spectacular!! Thanks for showing how very wrong I was, and making me want to run out and get a spectacular fat quarter bundle and go to town!!
Beautiful rainbow Carla. I love a good rainbow and yours has such saturated color too.
Your quilt is gorgeous and I really love the name and concept of it. So perfect for the hop theme!
This is such a very fun rainbow hour glass quilt! And a bonus stash buster. I love the mug rug and it was a great inspiration to go big with the design.
Awesome quilt! The rainbow colors are wonderful with the hour glasses interspersed. It reminds me of the Gypsy's Wife or Wander's Wife quilt with the vertical aspect of it, but this is so much simpler and just as lovely.
What a fun way to stash bust and I love the bright colors too. Blog hops are so full of inspiration. Now I'm thinking about my stash and fun ways to use it up.
Carla, What a great quilt. I love your design. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful colorful quilt! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
What fun rainbow of color with the hourglass blocks interspersed. I love it!
Beautiful quilt, Carla! The minky on the back will make it so soft and cuddly! I still love your mug rug too!
Oh, you are so right about having new quilt ideas swimming through my mind! This is just my second blog stop on the week's hop and, I have two "want to quilt, NEED to quilt!" ideas. Yours will be great for the Comfort Quilts group to which I belong. Thanks for sharing.

That's such a pretty quilt - loved how you incorporated the 'Time in a Bottle'. The pinwheel blocks add so much and I love minky for a backing. Perfect.
