Over the weekend DH and I took part in an event we have been a part of for the last 4 years. Our community comes together once a year to package meals to send to those less fortunate. 25,000 people die a day from hunger. I find that number staggering.
See those boxes, that was our job. Who knew cardboard could be so much work? My hands are rough as sandpaper, but it was so worth it.
My MIL heads up this event and this year we packaged 220,000 meals. 30,000 of those meals will stay in our community. It was exhausting yet so rewarding. I'm so thankful for my life. I can't imagine the hunger occurring in the world and in my own community. Our local drive is called "Share the Bounty" and there are events happening all over. If you want to learn more about what you can do, Numana has a lot of information.
I did manage a little sewing over the weekend and am in the quilting phase of this t-shirt quilt.
I've been commissioned to make this quilt for a college graduate. He graduates next month and I'm happy to say I will have this done. The recipient also served in the Air Force and I have enjoyed working on this in honor of him. I've been enjoying every one's blog posts about the Veterans in their lives.
It's a great day to be thankful,

what a wonderful effort! Bless you for that! I know many people will have a brighter day because of all of you!
Amazing effort, Carla, what a wonderful community you live in. God bless you :)
Isn't it wonderful that we CAN help others! I feel we should help whenever possible. I'm glad some of the meals stayed local
