Today is day 26 of
30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days.
A blog hop and quilt along.
Every day in April there will be one super simple quilt block tutorial for the quilt along hereA blog hop and quilt along.
and
one designer showing a project with that block on their blog.
30 days of designers
showing new and different ways to use each of the
30 quilt blocks.
Today's all-star blogger is
showing a project with
Block 26 - Catching Z's
Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10" x 10"
Cut 4 rectangles 4 1/4" x 51/2" - 2 red / 2 white
Cut 1 square 3" x 3" - red
Cut 2 rectangles 3" x 4 1/4" - white
Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Stitch the rectangles in the middle to the middle square, stitch the upper and lower rectangles together, and lastly stitch the 3 rows together.
Make 30 blocks set into a 5 x 6 grid with a border and you have a very neat modern quilt
with lots of quilting design room.
Same layout with more colors...
Check out what our designer of the day,
made with this block.
I am using Tula Pink's newest fabric collection,
All Stars to show each block.
And you can win your own bundle of All Stars too.
The giveaway ends April 29th.
I will announce the winner on the last day of the blog hop
April 30th.
Comment on the blogger of the day and come back here to enter every day in April

I love the thought of 30 blocks in 30 days. May make some baggies of cut fabric and instructions to take with me on the road for my work travels. Am on the road 2-3 weeks a month. One block a day goal is do-able.
ReplyDeleteIt was my pleasure to feature my pillow made using your Catching Z's block today. Evidently it's a very good title, as the pillow is very good at helping take long naps. Thanks again, Carla, for including me.
ReplyDeleteI do love this pattern, but I've loved them all!
ReplyDeleteI've updated my post for today with the list of all the bloggers on the hop with direct links to their 30 Quilt Block posts. I meant to include it right away but forgot until this morning. Oops!
ReplyDeleteThis is a super block too.
ReplyDeleteThis block is so simple yet effective. I love the look of the diagonal rows being rainbow colors. The possibilities with this are endless. I think this is a design I need to try. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThirty Blocks in Thirty Days is a very appealing thought--I especially liked the pillow done by Tu-Na Quilts! May have to try that one especially!
