Did you hear the one about the skunk, zebra, panda bear, and penguin?
I really don't have a joke here, just a welcome
to
to
the final day of the
Black & White Blog Hop.
I'm sad to see this hop end.
I've been procrastinating the finish of this quilt for quite a long time. (years)
It's a jelly roll quilt in which I stitched 5 strips together at a time,
cut squares from the strip sets, paired the squares,
and made 4 half square triangles from each pair.
Some of the strip set squares were paired with solid Kona white too.
The process made some interesting blocks.
I cut white squares and laid out my design.
It was time to finish this quilt, thus, the Black & White Blog hop was born.
The borders were added, 2 - Kona white and 1 is black with white music notes.
I quilted it with meandering music notes edge to edge on the long arm with
Aurfil 40 wt. long arm quilting thread.
I've finished my first big quilt of the year!
The finished quilt is 80" x 80"
I love it!
I'm sad to see this hop end.
My vision became a reality thanks to everyone who played along.
It has been so fun to see black and white

I'm hoping the weekend will allow me time to sit down and go through each and every email.
Still Wednesday at my house, but looks like it's Thursday at yours, so I'm going to sneak in and leave my comment since I couldn't resist looking at the gorgeous last day quilts! This has been such a fun blog hop. It is so interesting how each quilt seems to reflect its maker, despite using only two or three colors (or shades). Tonight I am especially taken with Quiltscapes' Kaleido-quilt.

ReplyDeleteI forgot to add that I love the way you used both starkish whites and creams in your quilt. I think it really adds depth and personality to your finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe Joyful Quilter's many little projects were so fun - I liked to see a variety of additional colors. My favorite may have to be the pink followed closely by the purple. Thanks for all the fun this week!
