Joan at MooseStash Quilting presented bloggers with the challenge to make something
inspired by UFOs. Are we talking Unfinished Objects or are we talking Aliens?
Joan said it was completely up to us.
Thank you, Joan, for inviting me to join this super fun blog hop I needed this one!
I chose to tackle a big pile of unfinished objects.
I really didn't know what they needed. I knew 2 needed to be trimmed and binding added.
A few needed a little repair here and there.
Some (4) had the binding added with HeatnBond Lite because of deadlines (don't judge)
and needed the binding stitched.
Now all those quilts are really
FINISHED!!!!!!
All 10! All Finished!
The dinosaur had been cut out in February one day when I had a little helper.
Only 5 months ago - that's not so bad.

It certainly wasn't the easiest thing to sew, but it is finished
and now this dinosaur is ready to be loved. 
The first person to say they want this book can have it!
I'll never stitch another one of these.
Seriously!
I won't make you fight over it, but mention you want it and I'll do an impromptu giveaway.

There is a happy corner in my sewing studio.
10 finishes well done, I would like to say I would have the book but I have noone to make anything from it and it would just sit in the pile of my UFO's in waiting.

ReplyDeleteAccomplishing so many finishes is definitely a WOOHOO moment...way to go! I think we may have to have this UFO thing once a year so I can complete the rest of the pile of unfinished I have. Love the little dino and your helper! If I tried to make it, it would be in the UFO pile for sure. LOL

ReplyDeleteA very impressive number of completions. I wish I understood why we all get so close to a finish and then stop. I also have at least one faked binding that I never considered a UFO. I guess I need to reassign it. Dino is very cute but looks like a bit of a pain to have started let alone finish.

ReplyDeleteHi Carla! That is one darn cute dinosaur but if you're not willing to make another one from the book, no thank you. I have enough stress in my life without taking on some sewing stress. GREAT JOB finishing TEN projects. Geez. Way to set the bar high! Good thing I didn't read this until today - I was trying to keep up with the Monday folks who all seemed to share two finishes. I love that you cleaned out that corner. You definitely deserve a new project or two. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Joan had a great idea, didn't she? I have a sister with no UFOs but she's strange and unusual, to say the least. Great finishes!
Carla I think you should get a prize for getting so many UFOS finished up! The dinosaur sure turned out to be a cute one! Thank you for sharing such an inspiring photo of fishes. 😉
ReplyDeleteWow!! You truly were inspired by the UFO topic. Congratulations on getting that pile all dusted off and sorted. That is one cute dinosaur. I made something similar years ago but it was a ball - and tricky enough without the added head, legs and tail elements!
