Pink Ribbons Quilt - Tickled Pink Blog Hop

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
my day - the final day for the Tickled Pink Blog Hop.

To all that participated or commented -
Thank you so much!

My head is swimming with all kinds of love
and I can't wait to try some new pink projects.

But first, it's my day to show my
Pink Ribbons Quilt.

When the idea for this hop came along, my first thought was that I needed to use up some of the pink scraps in my ever-growing stash.
With a Granddaughter, it seems I've accumulated a lot of pink fabric.
Trouble is, she really would rather have blue now that she is a little older.

My daughter brought her over and we had a great time making her first Valentine box.
It was all made by her with a purchased heart box and stickers.
Grampy cut the hole in the top
 and
her mommy wrote her name in glue.
Elizabeth was all about adding the glitter to the glue!

My daughter and granddaughter showed off the masterpiece Valentine box.

My kitchen is in the middle of a remodel - what a mess!
But we had fun!
You could say we were
"Tickled Pink"

I needed a simple project as you can see - with my house in a crazy mess.
It started with simple blocks and the idea was to have ribbons of pink,
but I hated it once I started stitching the ribbons together.

So I pieced a heart together with pink fabrics and bordered it with the pink ribbon blocks
and now
I love it.

I enjoy hosting blog hop events so much!

Joan from Moosestash QuiltingCarol from Just Let Me Quilt
and I, Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks
take turns hosting the blog hops and themes/challenges.

This month was my turn to host the
Tickled Pink blog hop!

I'm sharing my day with these bloggers:

Tickled Pink This Week!

This week is the
Tickled Pink Blog Hop!

I invited a great group of Bloggers to
create something with the color pink in it somewhere.

Or if they wanted to make it about being tickled, who am I to stand in the way?
It's all about pink or being tickled.
It's the month of love so really anything will do that tickle's us pink.

What is a Blog Hop?

It's like a "show and tell" online.
Our blog hops feature sewing and quilting and are like joining a quilt guild without leaving home.
Carol at Just Let Me Quilt, Joan at MooseStash Quilting, and I come up with a challenge
and invite bloggers to join.
We give everyone plenty of time to sew something, usually two months.

We assign a date for the bloggers to post their projects during the hop
and
they inspire us with projects, tutorials, or patterns.
Sometimes there are a few giveaways, too.

I'm sure this group will wow us!!

You can check out the Pinterest Board to stay up to date, too.

Have fun and have a very
Happy Valentine's Day!

Crayon Drawstring Bag for a Certain Little Valentine

I have a fun project to share today.

I'm over on the Thermoweb blog with a free pattern to craft a
Crayon Drawstring Bag.

My little granddaughter loves to color so I made her a little bag of coloring books and crayons.

This drawstring bag is the perfect size for a couple of coloring books and all the crayons too.

HeatnBond Medium Weight Non-Woven Fusible Interfacing keeps the bag in shape and you can add HeatnBond Liquid Vinyl Gel Coating to the lining to prevent stains and make cleaning a breeze.  Of course, the pattern calls for HeatnBond EZ Print Lite to make the applique crayon tops so much easier.

Click here to get the free tutorial and pattern over at Thermoweb!

Happy Stitching!

Cackling Stitches Creepy Critters BOM

Cackling Stitches is doing it again...another block of the month! This one is called "Creepy Critters" and today is the official start!

 February 1st.

The first blocks have just been released on our Cackling Stitches Facebook page, so if you want to join in check it out HERE.

This is my version of "Creepy Critters"

It's a block of the month, but there are 3 blocks being released today to get you started.

The first applique block is
Rotary Rita
designed by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt
(this is my version)

The other 2 blocks released are to frame all of the applique blocks.
They are hourglass blocks and half-square triangle blocks.

Joan from Moosestash Quilting and Carol from Just Let Me Quilt are my wickedly creative friends who helped create this quilt for the BOM.
Check out our Facebook page , Cackling Stitches, to see their quilts
and to download the February patterns.
