Paused Stripes - Show Your Stripes Blog Hop and Giveaway

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
my day - the final day for the Show Your Stripes Blog Hop.

To all that participated or commented -
Thank you so much!
I enjoy hosting blog hop events so much.

My head is swimming with all kinds of ideas
and I can't wait to get to stitching.

But first, it's my day to show my
"Paused Stripes" Quilt.

I'm working on using up the fabric in my stash this year.
This quilt was super fun to make and used up quite a few strips and little bits too.
My design was inspired by Jen Kingwell's Gypsy Quilt.

I had so much fun making 6" blocks and randomly placing them in my "stripes".
The quilting is wavy stripes and stars.

I love a color wheel-inspired quilt and made this 64" x 72" quilt an explosion of the rainbow.

I can't wait for winter to be over and the color to return outside.

We are celebrating stripes with a blog hop
and
I've invited my blogging friends to
stitch something up with stripes in mind.

I'm sharing my day with these bloggers:

This blog hop is for everyone!
Have fun visiting each blog and making new friends.

They have worked hard to show us some new ideas, so be sure to thank them with
a sweet comment!

  9. The quilt is eye catching and is named well! Thanks for sharing. Your idea will be a good one for making Comfort Quilts which, in the group to which I belong, are about 40 to 44 inches square and given to the nearby Ronald McDonald House, nursing homes, a hospice and a local pediatric practice. Thank you for coordinating this terrific blog hop.

  16. What a great quilt, Carla!!! I have always admired the Gypsy quilt, but I know I wouldn’t get very far with it before interest in something new and easier would come along. But your version is quite doable and inspiring! The name is perfect. A fabulous take on your striped theme. Thank you hosting and organizing this wonderful and successful blog hop. I had fun. I hope to join in on more.

  32. Wow, wow, wow! I LOVE this quilt! The colors and the blocks set "randomly" in the stripes. The first thing of thought of was Jen Kingwell's pattern (that I had to buy about a year ago). Your scattering of the blocks makes the pattern seem more doable. Thanks for this hop, Carla. Thursday was another great day of sharing!
