Welcome to
Creatin' in the Sticks.
My name is Carla
and
I am so happy to be part of the
Quilters Meet & Greet.
It's so fun to hang out with like-minded friends.
Benita at Victoriana Quilt Designs
has created this event to make meeting quilt bloggers super easy.
She asked us to send her a picture of our favorite quilt
and I had just received word that my quilt,
Wavy Strings
had been selected for inclusion in the special exhibit,

In the American Tradition
at the 2019 International Quilt Festival in Houston.
It's certainly my favorite now. lol
I may even have to travel to Houston to see it.
I was asked to make a recording for the Guide by Cell.
So if you are at the festival, be sure to check it out and learn more
about me and my quilt
in my voice.
Since you are here for the Meet & Greet, I guess I should tell you a bit about me.
I live outside of Dodge City, Kansas - (out in the sticks)
I started this blog back in 2012 and the name, Creatin' in the Sticks, just seemed fitting.
The blog started as a way to share recipes and craft ideas, but it quickly took a turn to quilting exclusively once I discovered blog hops.
This was one of my first blog hop projects, Duck Creek.
Blog hops are a great way to challenge and inspire yourself
not to mention all the friendships.
I've partnered with my friend Carol over at Just Let Me Quilt to host Blog Hops
and
we offer a different one every month.
Next week I'm hosting the
My Favorite Quilt Block Blog Hop.
We offer sign-ups about 2 months ahead of the hop so there is plenty of time to prepare a great project.
We would love to have you.
I am also a designer for Thermoweb.
I love designing projects for them and love all of their products from
HeatNBond adhesives for applique to EZ Print Quilt Block sheets for paper piecing.
is a quilt I designed for Thermoweb.
Click HERE for the free pattern.
There are lots of free patterns and inspiration for both fabric and paper
using the adhesives offered my Thermoweb on their blog.
I have had a great year as an Island Batik Ambassador.
This is Chunky Twists made for an Island Batik Ambassador challenge - to use AccuQuilt dies to create a baby quilt
As an Ambassador, I have received Island Batik fabrics and lots of other surprises from industry partners to make projects for the Ambassador monthly challenges.
The fabrics are so perfect for my designs
and
the opportunities are amazing.
This was my first Quilts of Valor quilt made with the new Island Batik Freedom Collection.
If you look at my sidebar you will find more about me
and
what I'm up to.
BUT, what about you?
What are you up to?
I'm so happy you stopped by.
Let's be friends!
Be sure to check out Benita's main post for a list of all the bloggers participating in the Quilters Meet & Greet.
