Today is my day to show a new favorite quilt.
Wavy Strings
I just love making blocks with strings, it feels therapeutic.
I actually made more blocks than are shown here, but time wasn't on my side.
So it's a smaller quilt than planned - 48" square, but still, love
and
I have a good start on another one.
I will draw the pattern up with the next one and will share all the details then.
This one was a bit bulky and needs some perfecting.

I used a muslin foundation to stitch the strings and then a stitch and flip method for
the top and bottom of the blocks.
Rainbow is my favorite colorway and I love scrappy quilts.

I quilted it with straight lines in Aurfil 40 wt. long arm quilting thread in white.
Part of the fun for me is the pictures.

ReplyDeleteWonderful Wavy Strings! I am trying to persuade myself to take better photos for posting as well. They are so much more fun to look at than the grainy and off color photos I see sometimes. I know that if I dislike them, there won't be much interest from guests either. Great hop! It has been fun!

Strings are one of my favorite type quilts and now my head is swimming with new possibilities to try even more ways.

ReplyDeleteI'm not always big on rainbow quilts but I love this one. It reminds me of the zig zag crochet afghans I used to make as a kid when I was into rainbows and care bears. Remember those. lol Awesome, strings hop. I was inspired my the many wonderful projects.
