Merry and Bright Christmas House Ornaments

If you sew for Christmas, you've probably already started your projects
or
at least made a list of what needs to be made.

Today I have a little project over on the Thermoweb blog that you may want to add to your Christmas sewing list.

These little houses are fun to make and you could personalize them with a little name at the top too.

The fabrics for these little houses are
Merry and Bright by Cori Dantini for Blend Fabrics
and
the supplies to make the houses are
A little Aurifil thread:  50wt # 2692 and #2620 and you are set to make some little houses.

The full PDF Pattern can be found in my Craftsy store HERE.

Be sure to head over to the Thermoweb Blog
and check out all the fun
Christmas ideas this week for both paper and fabric!

Fabulous Freebies Blog Hop Comes to Creatin' in the Sticks

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
the Fabulous Freebies Blog Hop.

Joan over at MooseStash Quilting
is the brilliant mind behind this hop to share FREE online patterns.

It's been a great year here in the Sticks
and
it all started with the
Challenge.

that are fast and fun to make alone or combined in countless combinations
for quick quilts.

I've made it a goal to make a quilt out of each block
and
today I've made one of the most popular of all the blocks into a quilt.

The block is Dutch Door (Block #4)
and is the 3rd most popular of all 30 blocks.
(This statistic is from page visits and Pinterest shares)

This block is so great for beginning quilters
and
a fun, fast block for a modern quilt.

This Dutch Door Quilt is made from 20 blocks and a 1" finished border.
Size:  42" x 52"

The fabric is from the Charlotte Collection by Anna Griffin with a background of Kona white.

The quilt has lots of negative space for some fun quilting.

I tried a different backing fabric and it's so pretty.

It's a flannel backed satin and it quilts so beautifully.  It's buttery soft too.

Thank you, Joan, for this super fun hop!

Blog Hop Announcement - Pick a Pumpkin

We have had so much fun hopping!

It's like old times, like a reunion, seeing old friends and being blown away by the stitching.

We are trying to keep the blog hops simple and easy to participate
which makes it nice for everyone...
us included.

I can't believe how creative these blog hops have been and can't wait to see where everyone takes this one.

Today I am happy to announce the newest blog hop.

Pick a Pumpkin

There is a little over 2 months to sew something and join in on the fun.
It's another easy theme that should have you thinking of lots of pumpkin things you could make.

Pumpkins bring the coziness of fall to our decor.

The blog hop rules:
(sorry, there has to be a little organization...)

Your project must have a pumpkin somewhere on it.
It can be a pumpkin block, a pumpkin applique, a pumpkin pincushion or just pumpkin fabric..whatever.
It can be big or small.
As long as it has a pumpkin, you're in!

Post your project on your assigned day.

Have a giveaway or don't have a giveaway. It's totally optional!

Visit everyone's blog on the list and leave a sweet comment.

Are you in?
