Where Flowers Bloom - The Final Day and My Day

My vision became a reality thanks to everyone who played along in the
Where Flowers Bloom Blog Hop.

It was so fun to see flowers take center stage for one week
and
to all that particiapated or commented -
Thank you so much!

It's been such a fun week.

It's my day to share my blooms
and
I made this pillow to remind me of this blog hop.

Just a little fusible applique with
on a background of white to go with my farmhouse decor .

I've hosted a few hops, but this is definitely one of my favorites.
The inspiration and sweet flowers have been awesome.

I made another pillow cover to go with my bloom pillow.

This one was made just like these pillow covers that were created for a tutorial for Thermoweb
and a
spring quilt market display for Anna Griffin Fabric.

They are super soft because you use
in the ruffle to create dimension and softness.
The ruffles in these large blooms are super simple with the technique in the pattern.

The full free tutorial is on the ThermOWeb blog click - Here
and
You can download the free PDF pattern from my Craftsy pattern store HERE.

I decided to make a pieced pillow cover too.

The design is my own and I plan on using it in a quilt too.
Stay tuned for that...

And here are my new blooming pillow cushions.

Here is the schedule for today:

Today - Friday, June 15th

and if you missed the beginning of the week here is the schedule:

  22. Carla, This has been a fun hop. Each day was as great as the previous day. The good times just kept rolling. The inspiration was delightful. I adore your pillows. I had not seen the ruffle technique. These hops always bring new techniques to this old dog of a quilter. Thanks for hosting the hop. I can only imagine all the hard work you and all the participants exude behind the scenes. You can put another A+ in the book and be very proud. I had a wonderful time just oogling all the hard work of all the participants and wishing some, no all, the projects were mine. Thanks again. Susan

  34. Hello Carla; Each one of your pillows are fabulous! I look forward to trying each one of them myself. I am still trying to catch up on the couple of days of the blog hop that I missed. Flowers are beautiful and reduce stress quickly so not only do I grow them, buy fabrics with lovely prints on them of flowers, I also create all kinds of projects with flower designs. It appears from all of the terrific comments that this is the feelings of everyone, you may want to consider making this a yearly Blog Hop. Thank you for putting it all together. Have a superb day!
