In Our Garden BOM - May Blocks 7 & 8 and a Giveaway!

Today is MAY DAY!!
And my month to share the quilt blocks I designed for the
IN OUR GARDEN BOM.


Hosted by Amy over at Sew Incredibly Crazy.
Every month a new designer will release two new patterns, one pieced and one appliqued, 
with a fun garden theme.

 I design this pieced quilt block to show off a focus fabric in the large center.
I have lots of floral in my Riley Blake Botanique fabrics for this quilt and can't wait to make another one of these blocks to show them off.

 Every garden needs a bird bath and my irises are blooming. 
 I designed another bird for this one but went with the pretty birds instead.  I will make another with my funny bird later in the month.
I used my  Riley Blake Botanique fabrics, Aurifil thread, and Thermoweb Heat n Bond lite for this block.  The bird bath fabric is from a bundle of Riley Blake solids.

    I'm enjoying the variety of blocks in this BOM and the skills needed to complete the applique, which is not a technique I've used in the past. Looking forward to the coming months' designs.
