Have a Latte Blog Hop - PERK POWER!

Welcome to Creatin' in the Sticks
and
my stop in the
Have a Latte blog hop.

How 'bout I pour you a cup of
Perk Power?

That's how my grandparents always made coffee.  I remember waking up at their house and smelling the coffee perking on the stove.  That was the best smell...

I've been exploring new techniques and made the coffee pot and the handle of the coffee cup with bias tape.  Perk Power was made similar to the quilt, Love You to Pieces,  a finish in February.

Perk Power
was created with

The sashing is Robert Kaufman Kona cotton in black.

The quilting is whimsical swirls (thanks to my friend Vickie for inspiration) and straight line quilting from the pot to the cup to draw the eye all with
Aurifil 50 wt #4012

I just love that line, "Good Coffee, Good Day!"
(I have been better about labeling my quilts)

Moda marble for the back and a strip of Have a Latte fabrics to make it as fun as the front.

The binding is a mix of Latte fabric and Kona black.

I'll be out on the patio enjoying a cup of java and checking out the other posts of the day.
ENJOY...

  4. Your quilt wall ganging is adorable! I used to have a coffee pot that perked coffee when we were first married. Then we graduated to a drip coffee maker. Now the fast Mr. Coffee makers. Gee come to think of it, we must have drank a lot of coffee through the years. I remember a lot of different coffee pots, lol.

  28. This is, by far, the most creative quilt ever. I love the whimsy and the quilting lines to guide the eye. The coffee pot's bias outline is great. You need to put this in a pattern. That applique with basic blocks is just plain fun.
