This is block 30 of 30!!

Welcome to the final block in the series.

Quilt block number 30
and
my favorite

Slow Tee

Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"

Cut 6 rectangles 4 1/4" x 3" - 4 green / 2 white
Cut 2 rectangles 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" - white
Cut 4 squares 1 3/4" - 2 white / 2 green

Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Stitch the center squares together first, then sew the white 4 1/4" x 3" rectangles to the middle unit.  Stitch the green outer rectangles to the large white rectangles and lastly,
stitch the three rows of units together.

I called this block Slow Tee for my plumber hubby and I dedicate it to him.
He's put up with my dedication to this project
by cooking, cleaning, shopping, and
taking care of me and our family.

This quilt is why I call this quilt block my favorite.
30 blocks in a 5 x 6 block grid with 5" unfinished borders.

OH, yes, I will be making this one.

There will be one more post to recap all we have accomplished.

Thanks for following this journey, I hope it was as fun for you as it was for me.

30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days - Block 28 and a Quilt Top

You've made it to quilt block number 28 of 30!
We are almost to the finish line of the 30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days Challenge.

This is the 4th quilt top I have made so far with the blocks.
It's 60" x 60" with  a grid of 4 blocks by 4 blocks and two 5" finished borders.

I'm afraid I won't be receiving any quilt photography awards today.
The wind just doesn't seem to cooperate with me and quilt tops.

And here is another inside picture of the top.

Let's get started on block #28

Stockade

Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"

Cut 4 rectangles 3" x 4 1/4" - purple
Cut 2 rectangles 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" - white
Cut 2 squares 3"  - white
Cut 1 rectangle 5 1/2" x 3" - purple

30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days - Block 27

Block 27 is a 2 color block,
but by changing where the color appears can really change the finished quilt.

Quilt block number 27

Broken Stripes

Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"

Cut 2 rectangles 4 1/4" x 10 1/2" - white
Cut 4 rectangles 3" x 1 3/4" - 2 blue / 2 white
Cut 2 rectangles 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" - 1 white / 1 blue

Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Stitch the middle rectangles together then sew the top and bottom rectangles to the middle unit.

Put together in a quilt, by rotating, there are a lot of
Broken Stripes.

By changing one of the large rectangles to color, a whole other look is achieved.

Which on do you like better?

30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days - Block 26

Block 26 is another quilt block that changes so much in a quilt with a little color swapping and rotating.

Experiment!

With quilt block #26
you definitely won't be

Catching Z's

Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"

Cut 4 rectangles 4 1/4" x 51/2" - 2 red / 2 white
Cut 1 square 3" x 3" - red
Cut 2 rectangles 3" x 4 1/4" - white

Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.

Stitch the rectangles in the middle to the middle square, stitch the upper and lower rectangles together, and lastly stitch the 3 columns together.

When stitched together in a 5 block by 6 block grid and rotating every other block,
the result is a very abstract, and modern quilt.

By changing the colors and using the blocks in the original position
the look is a modern take on tradition.

Catch some Z's while you can.
There are only 4 more blocks before they become a quilt!!

30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days - Block 25

It's time for block number 25.

It's so cool how many ways squares and rectangles can be transformed into blocks.

Let's get started on quilt block #25.

Camper Window

Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"

Cut 2 squares 3" - blue
Cut 2 strips 3" x 8" - white
Cut 4 rectangles 3" x 5 1/2" - 3 white / 1 blue

Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Stitch the two middle rectangles first, then add the outside rectangles to that.
Next, stitch the blue squares to the strips for the top and bottom.
Sew the 3 units together.

Turn the blocks into an interesting pixelated design by rotating every other one.
I love the modern look of this one.

This one could be a child's robot quilt
if you put eyes on each square and the rectangles are his arms.
hmmmm...

30 Quilt Blocks in 30 Days - Block 23

I know it's a busy time for everyone.

These blocks will continue
and
be here when you are ready for them.

Block number 23 is similar to 22 in construction
so let's get started.

Opposites Attact

Size Unfinished: 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Finished Size: 10 x 10"

Cut 4 rectangles 3" x 6" -  2 white / 2 purple
Cut 4 rectangles 3" x 5 1/2" -  2 white / 2 purple

Stitch the 3" x 6" rectangles together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Next cut the sewn unit in half lengthwise to make two 3" x 10 1/2" units.

Flip one strip over and to the other side of the group of 3" x 5 1/2" rectangles.

Stitch them together as laid out with 1/4" seams.
Stitch the rectangles in the middle together first,
then stitch the 3 units together.

When this block is put in a quilt,
many designs come together.

It looks so different from a distance.
I often stand back from these pictures and I'm amazed how different the quilt looks.
